Attended St. Albans Foundation College before going to Goldsmiths College London. After Goldsmiths I worked for Meridian Bronze in Peckham before working self-employed in a studio rented from the Digswell Arts' Trust Welwyn. I have also worked as an art teacher for the Rudolf Steiner School in Kings Langley.Moved to Switzerland in 1989 where I worked for Photo Stutz in Bremgarten as a Layout / production artist.

I am interested in editing out the dead passages of form. Modelling from areas of intense focus until an image appears caught in the tension between reality and abstraction, description and poetry.

"Beauty is a consciousness of the pleasure which attends the free play of imagination and the understanding. " Immanuel Kant

Bronze sculpture "Pauline" has appeared in the Royal Academy Summer Show. Having been awarded a Winston Churchill Scholarship I had the opportunity to study bronze casting and sculpture in Verona,Italy.

Returning home from Art school on a cold winters evening, I sat down next to my toddler daughter Rebecca who was playing with some wax crayons. I think she was holding them like a knife and stabbing the paper. I thought I would give them a try and drew this self portrait still wearing my donkey jacket, woolly scarf and funny hat
